Who can apply
- Only postdoctoral researchers in an early career phase. The programme generally requires a change of research institution, and the applicant must not have worked longer than one year at the chosen host institution at proposal time. Researchers already based abroad can only be funded abroad if they completed the majority of their schooling and higher education in Germany and have spent no more than three years abroad for research since their doctorate. The project may not be based at a for-profit entity or one that does not permit open publication.
