The fellowship funds two months of work with a guide, summer preferred, with entitled round-trip train fare and a monthly fellowship towards living expenses. Who can apply
- Only students and teachers studying or working in the states and territories the academies list for the 2027 round: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Andaman, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, and Uttarakhand. The course stages are the same list as the Summer Research Fellowship: BSc and BE or BTech middle years, first-year MSc, MTech or MCA, integrated degrees in their middle years, and integrated PhD first and second years, at a UGC, AICTE, MCI, accredited or private institution. Students need 65 per cent or above average marks in core subjects from class X onwards, excluding languages; that bar does not apply to teachers. PhD students are not eligible.
Stage dates
Submit the online application on one of the three academy websites, with marksheets from class X and a write-up of 150 to 250 words on what you want to learn and achieve. Only one application per candidate is considered.30 November 2026
Selection, with the guide's concurrence, is dispatched around March and April 2027. On selection an authorisation letter from the Principal or Head of Department must be posted to the FAST-SF coordinator in Bengaluru.See the official page
