Who can apply: You have a completed doctorate (PhD, MD-PhD), or completed medical studies in human, dental, veterinary, social or preventive medicine with an MD, or you will complete the doctorate within the next 6 months; proposals may be submitted no earlier than 6 months before the thesis defence. You may submit up to three years… What is funded: A fellowship for a research stay abroad after the doctorate, in principle 24 months, followed by an optional return grant of 3 to 12 months that pays a salary and social security contributions for the first period back in Switzerland. The fellowship itself covers subsistence costs, a flat rate for travel, and a… Deadline: 2 February 20h (Swiss local time). Round: The next of the two annual rounds. The funder lists 2 February 2027 and 3 August 2027 as its submission deadlines, and states that August 2027 is the final Postdoc.Mobility deadline before the scheme is replaced in 2028.

Who can apply
- You have a completed doctorate (PhD, MD-PhD), or completed medical studies in human, dental, veterinary, social or preventive medicine with an MD, or you will complete the doctorate within the next 6 months; proposals may be submitted no earlier than 6 months before the thesis defence. You may submit up to three years after the doctoral examination, taking the examination or thesis defence date as the relevant date; medical researchers without an MD-PhD may submit up to eight years after the state examination with at least three years of clinical activity after it. You need a link with Switzerland: Swiss nationality, a Swiss permanent settlement C-permit, or marriage or registered partnership with a Swiss national. Applicants who meet none of those may still be admitted if they are doing or have done their doctoral studies at a Swiss higher education institution, or obtained their state examination in Switzerland, and had not held a postdoctoral position abroad before the submission deadline. Stage dates
Submission deadline, 17:00 Swiss local time, through mySNF. The SNSF opens the application website three months before the deadline, and a first-time applicant must request a mySNF account at least five working days beforehand or timely access is not guaranteed.2 February 2027
The second and final Postdoc.Mobility deadline, 17:00 Swiss local time. After this the scheme closes to new applicants and a new postdoctoral funding scheme launches in 2028.3 August 2027
