Based on the salary index applicable on 1 June 2026 the maximum annual salary contribution is EUR 54,574, including employer charges, social security and pension contributions. Funding goes to the Host Institution, which employs the doctoral candidate on an employment contract…. Deadline: 25 November 2026. Round: First AFdoc call, deadline 25 November 2026 (the following call closes 28 April 2027).

Who can apply

The cumulative conditions are that you demonstrate a link to Luxembourg, are enrolled in a PhD programme by the project start date, do not already hold a PhD, and do not draw an old-age pension. The doctorate itself is hosted either at a public PhD-awarding institution abroad or at a Luxembourg-based private company active in R&D and accredited by the Minister responsible for the Economy; a company-based project must also involve a public-sector PhD-awarding institution. One proposal per applicant per call, submitted in English through the FNR Grant Management System.
