Who can apply
- Open to early career investigators, which the funder defines as people in an independent position such as assistant professor, people within ten years of their terminal research degree or the end of post-graduate clinical training, and, stated explicitly, postdoctoral fellows and medical fellows whose project is intended to support a transition to an independent research career. All applicants need an academic doctorate such as a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, DO, ScD, DSW or DVM. Applicants may be based in the United States or abroad, and proposals are accepted from international academic and non-profit research organisations, with the exception of countries under United States trade sanctions or embargoes. Past awardees cannot reapply. No application fee.
