- No citizenship or residency restriction is stated, and the host institution can be anywhere in the world. You must officially hold a PhD on 15 January 2027 and have obtained it no more than five years before that date. You must not hold or have held a faculty-equivalent position. Your project must depart from the mainstream of research in your discipline, and you need an invitation letter from a prospective host, who may support only one candidate in this round. You must be able to attend the annual symposium in the Zurich area in person.
