What is funded: One research grant (BI) under the Horizon Europe Mission Ocean project BioProtect: monthly maintenance allowance of EUR 1,359.64 (FCT table), personal accident insurance, initial duration 6 months from November 2026, renewable within legal terms. Who can apply
- Master's degree in Biology or a similar field with marine-science experience, and enrolment in a doctoral programme (or a non-academic degree course linked to a higher-education institution) by contract signature. Demonstrated experience with fishing communities, VME indicator species, GBIF/OBIS data and ArcGIS/QGIS. Fluent Portuguese and English are mandatory, and a residence permit if applicable, which in practice limits this to Portuguese-speaking applicants.
