Who can apply

  • Restricted by citizenship and by field. You must be a citizen of Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Djibouti, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, Mozambique, Malawi or Eritrea, and your research must be in earth sciences or paleobotany related to human origins. You must either be pursuing a graduate degree at an accredited university, preferably but not necessarily in sub-Saharan Africa, or have completed a doctorate no more than ten years before applying. Applicants must show a commitment to research and teaching in their country of citizenship after finishing the degree. Students need a sponsor letter and an advisor CV.
