- You must already have completed a baccalaureate degree at an accredited institution before you start, so this is an entry route for BSc and MSc holders and not for undergraduates part way through a degree, and the course prerequisites are specific: Cancer Biology requires general biology, general chemistry, general physics, two semesters of organic chemistry, mathematics through integral calculus and an introductory biochemistry course; Cancer Engineering requires general biology, general chemistry, two semesters of general physics, four semesters of mathematics including calculus, and extensive upper division coursework in engineering, physical sciences or computer science. Waivers of a specific course requirement are considered against your record and research experience. Significant basic science research experience is described as essential. You must choose one of the two programmes when you start the application and cannot switch after enrolling, although applicants meeting both sets of requirements are considered for both. TOEFL scores are required if English is not your first language, unless you earned a bachelor's or master's degree in the United States or a US territory, with exemptions available for a degree taught wholly in English. International students are accepted and the school assists with visa requirements after admission. GRE scores are not accepted. You submit an online application, authenticated transcripts from every institution attended beyond secondary school as unencrypted PDFs, and three letters of recommendation sent directly by the recommenders. The school's FAQ states there is no application fee.
