Who can apply
- Hard denominational requirement: membership of the Catholic Church, a lived Christian faith and a willingness to help shape the church. Applicants belonging to a non-uniate Orthodox or Oriental church may apply, decided case by case. Also required are outstanding academic achievement with interdisciplinary interest, a marked sense of social responsibility with voluntary engagement, and a school-leaving qualification entitling the holder to study at a German state or state-recognised university. The foundation runs a separate page for foreign applicants which could not be read on this pass, so anyone applying from outside Germany should check that page before relying on this record. Self-application is invited; schools, university teachers, chaplains and alumni may also nominate candidates.
Stage dates
Application with a project outline (Exposé) through the Cusanuswerk online portal, by 1 June or by 1 November. A separate track, Forschungsorientiertes Aufbaustudium, exists for applicants who must complete a taught phase before writing the outline.See the official page
Dates come from the funder's page for this round. When a round closes, the next round's dates replace these once the funder publishes them.
