Who can apply: Anyone attending an event that promotes open source bioinformatics software development or open science in the biological research community. There is no membership requirement and no application fee. Selection weighs whether the event qualifies, your role at it and your track record in the project you represent, and… What is funded: Up to USD 1,500 towards attending an event that promotes open source bioinformatics or open science: a conference, workshop, training course, codefest or collaborative development sprint. Who can apply
- Anyone attending an event that promotes open source bioinformatics software development or open science in the biological research community. There is no membership requirement and no application fee. Selection weighs whether the event qualifies, your role at it and your track record in the project you represent, and whether your attendance increases participation from groups underrepresented in the community or at the event, including by demographic group, ethnic origin, career stage and disability. A slight preference goes to OBF events and member projects. Awardees must write a post on the OBF blog about the experience within three weeks of the event, and that post is a prerequisite for payment. The application form is a Google Form; if Google Docs and Forms are unreachable from your location, the OBF will email you a template document instead.
