Who can apply
- THE APPLICATION IS MADE BY THE SUPERVISOR, not by the student, so the first step is finding a supervisor willing to host you. BMS membership is required. Membership costs GBP 10 a year for undergraduates in full- or part-time education on a Bachelor's course or equivalent, GBP 21 for postgraduates and GBP 38 for full members; those are membership dues, not an application fee. The placement runs 4 to 8 weeks in the summer vacation before the student's final year. THE SOCIETY STATES NO CITIZENSHIP OR RESIDENCE RESTRICTION anywhere on its grants pages, so a non-UK applicant should confirm their own case with the Society first. Per-grant detail is served from the grants index by script and has no separate address, so the index page is the citable source.
