Who can apply
- Open to high school students and college undergraduates worldwide, and to independent researchers working at an equivalent level. The Club writes that it welcomes applicants from every background and every corner of the globe, which makes this the one grant in this set whose international eligibility is stated rather than inferred. The Explorers Club states that its grants do not pay for visas, immunisations, tuition, salaries for students or faculty, or institutional overhead. Two letters of support are required and the Club will not accept them by email; the letter writers must upload them through the application form itself, and an application missing either letter is not reviewed. A written report and a statement of expenses, with copies of major receipts, are due no later than six months after the fieldwork ends.
Stage dates
The only binding date. Submit the online form, including a project title and description, an expedition timeline, a detailed budget, a plan for how the findings will be shared, information on permits and ethical concerns, a link to a video statement, and two uploaded letters of support.31 August 2026
Dates come from the funder's page for this round. When a round closes, the next round's dates replace these once the funder publishes them.
