Who can apply: Qualified students of any nationality or institutional affiliation may apply, which is the Foundation’s own wording. You must be enrolled in a doctoral programme in anthropology, be affiliated with anthropology through your advisors, or hold a previous degree in anthropology, and you must name a dissertation advisor… What is funded: A maximum of USD 25,000 for doctoral or thesis fieldwork. Grants are non-renewable, there is no limit on duration, and an applicant may request funding for distinct research phases such as two summers when that is part of the research design. Who can apply
- Qualified students of any nationality or institutional affiliation may apply, which is the Foundation's own wording. You must be enrolled in a doctoral programme in anthropology, be affiliated with anthropology through your advisors, or hold a previous degree in anthropology, and you must name a dissertation advisor or another scholar at the same institution to supervise the project. To receive an award you must have completed every doctoral requirement other than the dissertation before the start date on your application form, with proof from your department. Applications must be in English. Only one Wenner-Gren application may be under consideration at a time, across all their programmes, and an unsuccessful application may be resubmitted once, but not in the same calendar year. Successful applicants must comply with US law, including OFAC sanctions rules.
