Who can apply: The age band is the hard gate and it is stated as two dates rather than as a range: you must have been born on or after 31 May 1991, which caps you at 35 at the 2027 ceremony, and on or before 31 August 2008, which puts you at 18 or over when you submit. You must apply as an individual, not as an organisation… What is funded: Three awards are made each year. The award is to be spent on a conservation initiative of the winner’s own choice, implemented by them, for the conservation of wild species. The initiative may include a component of fundamental research, but research must not be its main focus. Future For Nature will not allow… Deadline: See official page. Who can apply
- The age band is the hard gate and it is stated as two dates rather than as a range: you must have been born on or after 31 May 1991, which caps you at 35 at the 2027 ceremony, and on or before 31 August 2008, which puts you at 18 or over when you submit. You must apply as an individual, not as an organisation, programme or group, and you must already have achieved substantial and long-term benefits to the conservation status of one or more wild species. The application must be written by you, in your own words, and you must be able to explain your work in proficient written and spoken English. From the 2026 cycle a candidate must leave a gap of one year between applications, so anyone who applied for the 2026 Award cannot apply for the 2027 one. This is not an end-of-career prize: the Foundation wants candidates determined to continue the work.
