Applicants of other religions can be funded if a… What is funded: A full scholarship for a Master’s, a further degree, a doctorate, a post-doc or a two to six month research stay at a German university. KAAD can add a German language course of up to six months in Germany. The award converts into a loan if you do not return to your home region, which KAAD states on the page. Who can apply
- You must come from, and currently be living in, a country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East or Latin America, already hold a university degree and have work experience in your home country, and be Catholic (in the Middle East, generally any Christian confession). Applicants of other religions can be funded if a Catholic partner organisation proposes them on the strength of a documented commitment to interreligious dialogue. German at level B1 is expected before you arrive, or A2 for an English-taught programme. Applications go through KAAD's partner committees in your region, not directly to Bonn, and KAAD works with a defined set of focus and partner countries.
