Who can apply

• Open to Chilean and foreign applicants, with or without permanent residence in Chile ('personas chilenas o extranjeras, con o sin permanencia definitiva en Chile'). Applicants must hold a Licenciado degree, professional title or foreign equivalent; must, at the close of the call, be formally applying to, admitted to or enrolled in a CNA-accredited doctoral programme at a Chilean university (formal application must be certified by a letter from the programme or the ANID form); and must show academic excellence through either an undergraduate average of at least 5.0 on the Chilean 7.0 scale or a place in the top 30 per cent of their graduating cohort. The application is made in Spanish through ANID's SPL system. New for 2027: before signing the agreement, a selected person must present a Tesoreria General de la Republica certificate showing no CAE loan arrears.
