The fellowship is tied to neither a research group nor a project, so fellows rotate through at least two labs for at least two months each before choosing a thesis group. - You must hold, or expect to soon receive, a university degree that qualifies you for a PhD at the University of Basel (MSc or equivalent). Outstanding students with a four-year Bachelor's degree, typically from outside the Bologna system, may be admitted in exceptional cases and complete a fast-track Master's as part of the fellowship. You may not already be enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Basel, nor have signed a PhD working contract there, at the decision date of the call.
