• An M.Sc., B.E. or B.Tech or equivalent degree with at least 55 per cent marks, one publication in a Science Citation Indexed journal and at least two years of post-M.Sc. or post-B.E./B.Tech research experience as on the last date of application; or an M.Tech or M.E. in engineering or technology with at least 60 per cent marks; or a B.E./B.Tech with at least 60 per cent marks and two years of research experience; or an MBBS or BDS with at least 60 per cent marks and a one-year internship; or a B.Pharm, B.V.Sc or B.Sc (Ag) with at least 55 per cent marks, one SCI publication and three years of research experience; or an M.Pharm, M.V.Sc, M.Sc (Ag) or M.Phil with at least 55 per cent marks, one SCI publication and one year of research experience. Maximum age 32 years on the last date of application, relaxable by five years for SC, ST, physically handicapped and female candidates. Candidates already awarded a PhD, MD, MS or MDS, or who have submitted the thesis for one, are not eligible. Simultaneous employment is not permitted.
