Who can apply: You must already hold a doctoral degree and be no more than 8 years past it, and you must satisfy the MSCA mobility rule: you cannot have resided or carried out your main activity in France for more than twelve months in the three years immediately before the call deadline, which rules out most candidates already… What is funded: A three-year employment contract at EMBL Grenoble under the EU Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions COFUND scheme, with a monthly stipend reviewed yearly, monthly family and child allowances, a pension scheme, death benefit and unemployment insurance, private medical insurance for you and your immediate family, 30 days… Deadline: 24 August 2026, 23:59 CET. Who can apply
- You must already hold a doctoral degree and be no more than 8 years past it, and you must satisfy the MSCA mobility rule: you cannot have resided or carried out your main activity in France for more than twelve months in the three years immediately before the call deadline, which rules out most candidates already working in France. You also need at least one original publication in a peer-reviewed journal, a background in the relevant methods, and evidence of English at CEFR B2 or above. The full package (Europass CV, a 3-page research plan with budget, a draft Individual Career Development Plan, two reference letters and the ethics checklist) is submitted through the AMBER portal at ambercofund.eu, and a candidate may apply for a maximum of three AMBER positions but must make a complete separate application for each. EMBL asks for a PhD certificate or an upcoming defence date, so a final-year PhD student may apply. No application fee is charged.
