Who can apply
- Postgraduates holding an MD, MSc, PhD or MD-PhD in a field related to respiratory medicine, and qualified non-MD respiratory health professionals with at least an MSc. Established investigators, meaning scientists who run their own group with its own funding and hold a fixed position, are not eligible. ERS active membership is mandatory at the time of applying: it is free for early-career applicants under 40 who live in a country with GDP under USD 20,000 and cannot join through a partner society, and EUR 30 a year for other early-career direct members. All nationalities may apply, but the host institution must be in a different country from the applicant's own.
