Who can apply: Non-EU applicants cannot be funded for a Bachelor’s degree: the foundation excludes Bachelorstudien for non-EU applicants, and also excludes second degrees, LL.M and MBA programmes, part-time study, doctorates in dentistry and human medicine, postdoctoral programmes, projects and separate stays abroad. What is funded… What is funded: For international scholarship holders from outside the EU the scholarship is EUR 992 a month. An accompanying spouse adds EUR 276 and an accompanying child adds EUR 259 a month, and the foundation pays the health and long-term care insurance contributions for the scholar and, where applicable, for accompanying family… Deadline: See official page. Who can apply
- Non-EU applicants cannot be funded for a Bachelor's degree: the foundation excludes Bachelorstudien for non-EU applicants, and also excludes second degrees, LL.M and MBA programmes, part-time study, doctorates in dentistry and human medicine, postdoctoral programmes, projects and separate stays abroad. What is funded is a first degree, in practice a Master's for this group, at a state or state-recognised university in Germany, the EU or Switzerland, full-time. Applications are accepted only through the online portal and correspondence runs by email only. Expert references should be written in German, and may be submitted in English where the referee does not write German; references and proof of voluntary work from abroad may be in English. Membership of the FDP is not required, and a purely non-financial place on the programme is not available.
Stage dates
The portal accepts applications only inside the two windows (1 to 30 April and 1 to 31 October) and closes at 23:59 on the last day. Applicants hear whether they are invited to the oral stage by 8 February or 8 August of the same year. No year is printed against the deadlines, so none is claimed.See the official page
