Who can apply
- A Master's degree (MSc) or German university Diploma in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics, biotechnology, medicine or a related discipline. A four-year Bachelor's degree with Honours, including a research project with a written thesis, written or oral final examinations and at least six months of advanced coursework, is considered in exceptional cases at first class or, rarely, upper second class standard; the LMU Biology faculty's four-year Bachelor's is accepted but the three-year one is not. The degree need not be complete at application but must be awarded before doctoral study starts, and the most recent final examination must have taken place no more than four years before the application date. Two letters of recommendation are mandatory, at least one from the supervisor of your most recently awarded degree. A TOEFL or IELTS certificate is recommended but not compulsory; applicants from non-EU countries are strongly advised to submit a GRE, and applicants from India may submit GATE results instead.
