What is funded: Admission to a GSNS PhD programme is contingent on financing, and Aarhus University must have a complete financing plan in place at admission covering the scholarship or fellowship, the tuition fee and running costs. Who can apply
- Open to applicants of any nationality. Entry is either the 5+3 structure for holders of a Master's degree or the 4+4 structure for students currently enrolled on a Master's degree, and applicants may apply before the Master's degree is awarded by uploading Bachelor's transcripts and diploma plus Master's transcripts. Applicants choose the general call, which requires their own project description of half a page to four pages and, in practice, full external financing from the supervisor, or a specific call, which is an advertised project with its own stated candidate background. Non-Danish applicants must apply at least three months (EU citizens) or four months (non-EU citizens) before their preferred start date. GSNS does not accept third-party contracts, for example those attached to some international scholarships, that limit a PhD student's freedom or mobility.
