Monthly stipend of EUR 1,500 in Trieste, USD 1,122 in New Delhi and ZAR 16,500 in Cape Town, plus return travel from the home country, medical health insurance and reimbursed visa costs. Who can apply

• Open to nationals of African countries only. You must already be an early or mid-career scientist in human or animal health affiliated with a research institute, university or public health laboratory in your home country, with a research background in infectious diseases, diagnostics or biosafety, so an unaffiliated student cannot apply. A BSc (Honours) is required for ICGEB Trieste and Cape Town and an MSc for New Delhi. An English proficiency certificate is required unless your degree was taught in English. Women scientists are particularly encouraged. ICGEB charges nothing to apply.
