Who can apply

• Candidates of all nationalities with a Master's degree (or one expected before the PhD starts) in biology, biochemistry, life science, chemistry, physics, biophysics, bioinformatics, computer science, medical biology, medical physics, pharmacology or a related field, plus at least six months of full-time research experience in a life science project with a final written report. Applicants with a four-year Bachelor's degree that included a six-month full-time research project can apply if their final grade is 1.5 or better on the German scale, after sending their transcripts to the school first. Good spoken and written English is required; TOEFL or IELTS is recommended, not mandatory. You select up to four labs, three of them mandatory.
