Who can apply: You must come from, and currently be living in, a country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East or Latin America, already hold a university degree and have work experience in your home country, and be Catholic (in the Middle East, generally any Christian confession). Applicants of other religions can be funded if a… What is funded: A full scholarship for a Master’s, a further degree, a doctorate, a post-doc or a two to six month research stay at a German university. KAAD can add a German language course of up to six months in Germany. The award converts into a loan if you do not return to your home region, which KAAD states on the page. Who can apply
- You must come from, and currently be living in, a country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East or Latin America, already hold a university degree and have work experience in your home country, and be Catholic (in the Middle East, generally any Christian confession). Applicants of other religions can be funded if a Catholic partner organisation proposes them on the strength of a documented commitment to interreligious dialogue. German at level B1 is expected before you arrive, or A2 for an English-taught programme. Applications go through KAAD's partner committees in your region, not directly to Bonn, and KAAD works with a defined set of focus and partner countries.
