Who can apply
- A PhD awarded less than five years before the deadline, or a documented expectation of defending by 19 May 2027, with reductions for leave of absence. There is no nationality bar, but there is a residency test and two routes. Type 1 is for applicants resident or mainly active in Denmark for at least five years at the deadline, going abroad for 18 to 36 months and returning. Type 2 is for scientists moving to Denmark from abroad who have not been resident or mainly active in Denmark for more than 12 months in the preceding 36 months. The whole grant must be administered by a Danish non-commercial research institution and a Danish host letter of support is required.
Stage dates
One application through the Foundation's LANAS application system. Downstream milestones only: approval end of March 2027, earliest start 1 April 2027, and the grant must start before 31 December 2027.19 November 2026
