Who can apply: Postgraduate, Early Career, Full and Emeritus members of the Biochemical Society. You must submit an abstract to the conference to show active participation, and Postgraduate and Early Career applicants need a letter of support from a supervisor or head of department. Applications for the FEBS Congress or Young… What is funded: Up to GBP 500 for a national conference or training event and up to GBP 1,000 for an international one, towards travel and accommodation for in-person attendance. Partial awards are common. Travel insurance, visa fees and subsistence are not covered. Deadline: 1 September 2026. Who can apply

  • Postgraduate, Early Career, Full and Emeritus members of the Biochemical Society. You must submit an abstract to the conference to show active participation, and Postgraduate and Early Career applicants need a letter of support from a supervisor or head of department. Applications for the FEBS Congress or Young Scientists' Forum go through the International Sponsored Places scheme instead. You must have been a Biochemical Society member for at least 12 months immediately before the deadline (six months if you joined on a multiyear membership). Membership dues are not an application fee. You cannot take funding from the same scheme in consecutive years, and no more than GBP 2,000 in total across the whole Biochemical Society grants portfolio in any three-year period. Applications are accepted from anywhere in the world, except where UN, EU or UK sanctions prevent payment. Retrospective applications are not funded.
