Who can apply: Applicants of any nationality at an early stage of their research career who have completed a PhD, with no more than six years of research experience since the PhD by the closing date (career breaks taken into account), who can demonstrate a current and ongoing need for flexible support due to personal circumstances… What is funded: An eight-year fellowship worth up to GBP 1,907,400 in total, held at an eligible UK host organisation, covering the fellow’s salary and research costs, with flexible full-time or part-time working for caring responsibilities or health reasons, plus career development, mentoring and networking support. Who can apply

  • Applicants of any nationality at an early stage of their research career who have completed a PhD, with no more than six years of research experience since the PhD by the closing date (career breaks taken into account), who can demonstrate a current and ongoing need for flexible support due to personal circumstances such as being a primary carer or having a clinically diagnosed health condition. Applicants must not hold a permanent post or have held an equivalent independent fellowship. The host organisation must approve the application by the deadline; the scheme notes recommend referees and supporters finish at least 5 working days before it.
