Who can apply
- Open to UK and overseas applicants. Candidates are expected to hold, or be about to achieve, a first or a good 2:1 class degree or an equivalent overseas qualification. You apply to the programme, not to a named supervisor, and you choose three Faculty members whose research interests you. Two academic referees are required. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the University of Cambridge English language requirements, but not before submitting the Sanger application. GRE scores are optional and only useful if you have them. READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUDGET: the Sanger application itself is free, and the Institute says so on its own FAQ, but a student who is selected must then apply for admission to the University of Cambridge, which costs GBP 20.
