This study reports cadmium-based two-dimensional metal-organic frameworks, crystalline networks built from metal ions linked by organic molecules, prepared from cis-5-norbornene-endo-2,3-dicarboxylic acid. The work describes their synthesis from that norbornene-based ligand, their framework structure, and their blue-light emission.
