This work studies choline-based amino-acid ionic liquids — designable salts that stay liquid at low temperatures — as media for capturing CO₂. Using computational chemistry, the team examines how these liquids bind and hold carbon dioxide at the molecular level. The aim is greener, more efficient carbon-capture materials for cutting industrial emissions.
