This community experiment (CASP15–CAPRI) assessed how well research groups worldwide could predict the 3D structures of protein complexes across 37 targets. With the widespread adoption of AlphaFold2 and AlphaFold-Multimer, high-quality models were produced for about 40% of targets — up from 8% two years earlier, a major leap. Prediction remained hard for antibody complexes and flexible assemblies, marking where the field still needs work.
