Who can apply

The solicitation states plainly that 'national' does not cover someone who has applied for but not received US citizenship, and does not cover anyone in the US on any type of visa, so international students are not eligible. Applicants must be senior undergraduates, bachelor's degree holders with no graduate study, or beginning graduate students, and must intend to enrol in or already be enrolled in an eligible research-based (with thesis) master's or doctoral programme in an eligible STEM field at an accredited, non-profit US institution. One application per annual competition. There is no application fee.
