The stipend is ILS 168,000 per academic year, paid as ILS 14,000 a month, plus ILS 20,000 a year for research expenses and research-related travel. • Open to candidates of any nationality who were awarded their PhD no earlier than 1 November 2023, in all countries except Israel. Current PhD students may apply if they defend their dissertation successfully by 1 June 2027. You must not hold any academic degree from an Israeli institution (former visiting or exchange students are eligible) and must not have started a postdoctoral position in Israel before 1 September 2026. At the time of application you need an academic sponsor, a faculty member at Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Reichman University, the Technion, Tel Aviv University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Haifa or the Weizmann Institute of Science. In STEM fields the sponsor pays 25 per cent of the stipend. Each sponsor can back only one candidate, and cannot host someone they supervised during a PhD.
