Who can apply
- For postdoctoral fellows whose mentor's lab is affiliated with an institution in the state of California. The fellow applies with the full support of the host institution and mentor, including a letter from the department chair or centre director and two recommendation letters not written by the mentor. Preference goes to applicants who received the doctorate no more than three years before applying, who have not held a previous fellowship, and who have no other extramural funding for the three-year period. Fellows must commit 80 per cent effort to the project. The page states no citizenship requirement.
